Taurus New Moon of Simple Sensuality with Oyster Mushrooms

Taurus New Moon of Simple Sensuality
with Oyster Mushrooms (Pleurotus spp.)

in 03°24 Taurus
Wednesday, April 22nd
8:26 pm MST

We are being, more and more simply.
Fungus: Pleurotus spp. "Oyster Mushrooms!"

Loveliest of Taurus New Moons to you! On Wednesday, April 22nd, the Moon is New and Sun and Moon are close to Uranus in Taurus and forming a square to Saturn in Aquarius. The smell of fresh growth. The taste of simple, new fruit.

"There is something physical about our existence," says Taurus.
We are birthed into springtime, into Jupiter conjunct Pluto, into Saturn conjunct Pluto, into a new Zodiac Season and this Taurus New Moon. We honor our bodies and their sensual support. We feed our bodies with nourishment and gratitude.

We create and embody Taurus-themed intentions for a whole year. How do you live in your body? How do you want to live in your body? How do you intend to live with vibration, rhythm, and sensation? How are you in relation with the local life and environment around you?

How is Earth? How do you want to be in relation with Earth?

Give yourself space. Space to relax, rest, and restore. Containers of sacredness, imagination, and nourishment are more meaningful than ever before. In Taurus we go towards our simple lusciousness.

Chiron quintile Pluto
On this same day as the New Moon, Chiron forms a quintile aspect with Pluto. We release any stickler tendencies when it comes to healing, shadow work, and seeking solutions. We feel a desire to create, build, and express primitive and ancestral themes within.

Taurus & Oyster Mushrooms: Wisdom of Simpleness
Classic Taurus loves some common, fleshy, and nutritious Oyster Mushrooms. Oysters are saprophytic fungi, primary decomposers who digest what is dead, a fungal function that all ecosystems depend on. The most widely eaten mushroom in the world, they are also among the most researched for their mycoremediation ability -- to restore balance in the environment through digesting or hyperaccumulation of toxic chemicals in the environment like lead, petroleum hydrocarbons, or mercury.

There are a variety of species with slightly different morphology and colors (golden, pink, white, etc.) that all belong in the oyster genus -- Pleurotus. All species have smooth fan-shaped caps, decurrent gills, whitish spore prints, and will grow as clusters on fallen or rotting logs (oak, beech) in the springtime and throughout much of the year in temperate forests. Like most mushrooms, Oysters carry general medicinal properties including anti-viral, anti-tumor, anti-cancer, cardiovasodilating, anti-inflammatory, and immuno-modulating support.

Oyster Mushrooms are a commonality -- a shared ecological simplicity who grow around the world and are tastefully enjoyed by many. Oysters align with the
Taurus energy of grounded simpleness, that can add balance and perspective to the massive transformative Plutonic energy of this year (Pluto conjunct Jupiter on 4/4/2020, 6/29/2020, and 11/12/2020, & Pluto conjunct Saturn on 1/12/2020).
Throughout this Zodiac season, the grounded, verdant honesty of Taurus is extremely available as the Sun illuminates this sky and we experience a Taurus New Moon.

New Moon in Taurus squares Saturn in Aquarius
This is not an easy transit. It's easy and normal to feel some struggle or obstruction with your emotions and your relationships. In some ways, we feel distanced from others, and in other ways it may feel like its hard to connect with those who are next to us. These are just little signs that we all move in waves of emotion, and that we have great desires.

Moon (4/22) & Sun (4/25) conjunct Uranus: Inhale New Life
Uranus forms a conjunction with this New Moon and then exactly with the Sun on Saturday, April 25th. Change is in the air and inside of ourselves. So deep inside that it comes from our invisible, radiant core inside of ourselves and inside of the earth. We let go of expectations about change and expectations about simplicity.

With Earth Sign Taurus, there's an innovative shift in collective myth making. What is sustenance? How are we resourced? We breathe new life and simpleness into our understanding of "havingness".
What are you questioning? Are you questioning wisely, with discernment, and in a manner that does not disregard others or yourself?
This is not a time to chase excitement, but to let it unfold as it is.

As we permute, we may experience fear and resistance coming from inside or we may subconsciously expect resistance from the outside. As we change, we honor ourselves and those around us with respect and tenderness. What areas may have become stinted, rigid, or taken for granted for you?

Throughout Taurus season there are a number of aspects. I've laid out the big 3 for you to reference along your way:

Saturday 4/25 Pluto stations Rx in 24° Capricorn: Initiation into Where We Place Our Power
Pluto is the astrological mentor of the year, as Pluto forms 3 conjunctions with Jupiter just after forming a conjunction with Saturn, forming a new Saturn-Pluto cycle. Astrologers are all talking about Pluto's movements this year, and we know that this is big stuff, on a personal and collective level.

Pluto Rx begins on 4/25 in 24° Capricorn and will last until October 4th at 22° Capricorn. In 2019, Pluto retrograded through 23-20° of serious Capricorn.

Jupiter and Pluto's first conjunction was on Saturday, April 4th. During this Pluto Rx, Jupiter will also enter Rx, and they will form their second conjunction, both in Rx motion, on 6/30. Their third and final conjunction will be on 11/12, both stationed direct.

Pluto (Hades) is the underworld -- destruction, regeneration, volcanic catharsis, eliminative potency, decay, compost, and transformation. Pluto intensifies whatever they touch, sometimes to overwhelming and catastrophic extremes.

Jupiter (Zeus) is growth -- expansion, plentitude, faith, truth, and possibility. The conjunction between these two planets indicates that exponential growth, extreme laws, suffering, fear, betrayal, grief, regeneration, and volcanic renewal are big themes throughout the whole year.

The Pluto-Jupiter Rx conjunction is also square Mercury -- the planet of communication, short-distance travel, hands, arms, the lungs, and the respiratory system. So here we have this planet exacerbating the challenges of long-distance travel, expansion, pandemic, and death.

Pluto's 5-month-Rx, won't necessarily make the compost-energy more disruptive or pronounced, however it might turn this energy inward in a more personal and reflective experience. Every year Pluto retrogrades, and each year we emerge from processes of transformation as more mature and conscious fruiting bodies.

While we enter Pluto's Rx shadow, ask yourself where do you cross paths with power? In Capricorn, this conjunction asks us to extend beneath our accepted reality of materiality and authority. What is underneath what you aspire to build and be in this world?

Monday 4/27 Mercury enters Taurus: simplify attention & think slowly through earth-senses
During this planetary ingress (Mercury's entrance into Taurus), our minds become practical and deliberate. Mercury is at energetic odds with Saturn, so obstructions and delays may seem to directly oppose your desires throughout the season. Mercury in Taurus is about simplifying our attention, thinking outside of the Saturnian Box, and decentralizing our mind so that we think slowly through our earthly senses.

Tuesday 5/5 Nodes enter Gemini and Sagittarius: Earth processing new energy
We grow into a new eclipse axis -- leaving behind Cancer-Capricorn and entering into Gemini-Sagittarius! The nodal axis is powerful, as it can block out the light of the luminaries during eclipses, thereby regulating flow and energy of this planet. Eclipses are portals that can shift or break dynamics or patterns. They are a release of energy, leading us beyond our origins.

We usually have 4-5 eclipses per year, but in 2020 we have 6! We experience quite a few openings of energy channels and restructuring. Our first eclipse was on 1/10/2020 in 20° Cancer, and our next Eclipse is coming up on 6/5/2020 -- a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in 15° Sagittarius.

While our Nodes were in Cancer-Capricorn, we were processing energy having to do with the primal awareness between the desire for nurturance, rootedness, protection, gentleness, and the desire for achievement, authority, respect, status, and long-maintained collective structures.

As we head into a new Nodal axis, that of Gemini-Sagittarius, we begin to process the energy that has to do with information, learning, meaning, and the juxtaposition of near vs. far.

We're talking distraction, meaningful exchange, restlessness, edginess, the distribution of information, active listening, social conditioning, and the immediate environment in relationship with long distances, freedom, arrogance, hedonism, adventure, curiosity, faith, surpassing comfort zones, spirit messages, and meaningful existence. Whew!!!

And so we are rebirthed into this beingness.

The Scorpio Full Moon will be on Thursday 5/7 at 3:46 am PST -- to be elucidated later.

Happy Taurus Season, sending you sensual spores of simplicity!! <3
