Virgo Full Moon of Wanting What's Right in Front of You with Amethyst Deceiver
Virgo Full Moon of Wanting
What's Right in Front of You
in 19°47' Virgo
Monday 9 March 2020, 11:48 am MST
We are desiring what is right in front of us.
Fungus: Amethyst Deceiver (Laccaria amethystina)
Welcome to the Virgo Full Moon of Wanting What's in Front of You! With the beautiful bright purple fruiting bodies of Laccaria amethystina, or the Amethyst Deceiver, and with Venus newly in Taurus, we release our attachment to dreaming and being critical. We engage our desire in our physical surroundings.
After the scant-ish last week or so, other than Mercury being full-swing in Rx, these next two weeks will be pretty packed with astrology!
On this same day of the Full Moon, Monday, Mercury also turns direct in 28°13' Aquarius. Mercury will slow down on March 7th, 8th, and 9th. Communication, information, and exchange can get slow and sluggish. Do you feel increased worry and anxiety? Give yourself a lot of somatic support during these few days. Creative practice will help support your feelings -- free-write, play, make a mess, cook something good, lay down in the grass. You may need to get the energy out and moving so that it doesn't stagnate inside of your head, feet, and energy body.
Amethyst Deceiver, or Laccaria amethystina, is a deep lilac mushroom whose bright coloration fades with age and weathering. They become difficult to identify, hence the common name "Deceiver". This mushroom has white spores and little white hyphal hairs on its stem. Apparently edible, this mushroom can also absorbs arsenic in the soils, so know the environmental history of where you're foraging! The incredible color of this mushroom is so vividly out of a dream, or seemingly another planet. Though it grows right here, right now, in many temperate and tropical regions of the planet.
As we've danced from Pisces New Moon to this Virgo Full Moon, how are you releasing the ways that you've lost yourself in dreaming? Consider when you are somewhere else rather than where you already are. What you desire is actually in front of you. Work with this energy of physical matter instead of against it. This is a beautiful Full Moon to spend some time alone, reflect, meditate in silence, and to cleanse your home, work environment, and aspirations.
Virgo rules the cleansing and discriminating parts of the body -- the digestive system, gut, spleen, pancreas, bowels, and enzyme production of the liver. While Virgo purifies, we cannot get lost in being critical and judgmental. Consider where you've been overly critical of yourself and of others. Release these judgments by writing them down or speaking them into the earth.
Tell me about your Mercury Rx!
How is this Mercury Rx affecting you and how are you affecting it? Seriously, I want to actually hear about it!! Send me an email at WeRecomposing@gmail.com or DM me @gabrieladelia_ with anything you're willing to share. Tell me about your experiences, sensations, moods, judgments, and thought patterns.
I'm a Gemini rising, so Mercury rules my navigation. I'm extra sensitive to Mercury's movements. My body and my brain have been feeling very high and porous, like I'm floating in the ocean. On the same weekend I lost my wallet (got it back!), brought a dish to an event that was totally not a potluck, and drove 45 minutes to a class that was actually the following weekend. When I actually set out for this class on the correct date, I was 2 hours late because the road closed due to a big accident.
More recently, in the past few days, I feel very slow, very tender, and pretty much like a new-born baby who just wants to sit in the sun-kissed breeze. Everything does seem extremely surreal and I am amazed I am right here. I've been embodying some lessons in a new way.
I won't forward your information to anyone else. It's for me -- your curious neighborhood astrologer!
Anyway, Mercury will re-enter Pisces on March 16th, gaining a new perspective on how we trap ourselves in time. What mistakes have you learned from in the past 3 weeks? How are you taking responsibility to integrate your lessons? I'm leaning how to be confident with my slow and steady process, to have less critical responses to myself and others, and to simplify. Hard stuff!!

Venus entered Taurus ~ 4 March
How do you value grounding yourself into the earth? How do you connect your body with the Earth? Consider why this is important to you and how it makes you feel. What sensations does your body experience when you feel grounded to the earth? With Uranus also in Taurus, how are these practices changing for you?
Hello Aries Season & Spring Equinox ~ 19 March
Sun enters Aries on March 19th. We begin a new cycle of the zodiac wheel, in a way. Aries is the first zodiac sign, though you can certainly begin your story from any point and any sign. With Sun illuminating Aries, this raw and enthusiastic energy is more potent and available. Sun is also igniting Chiron in Aries (2018 - 2027). How do you initiate yourself into this world? When you perceive anything as a threat, do you fight, flight or freeze? How are you aware of your personal energy so that you can respond to interruptions, threats, offenses, or thwarts with grace and heart-centeredness towards yourself and your environment? Like I said, it's hard!!!
The Spring Equinox celebrates the midway point between the Winter Solstice and the Summer Solstice. How has the darkness nourished you?
I'll let you in on a little surprise -- a creator friend and I are going to release an Aries Season Lowdown Video, so keep your eyes peeled for the announcement email!
Uranus Sextile North Node ~ 19 March, 14:22 MST
Also on March 19th, Uranus will make an exact sextile aspect to the North Node. We are already in a loose sextile, so the effects are very much present and growing. The Nodes are mathematical points that mark the crossing of the paths of Sun and Moon. Astrologically, the Nodes hint towards the development of spiritual evolution. The North Node represents medicine and is suggestive towards resolving the karmic dilemmas and negative habits of the South Node.
The North and South Nodes change about every 1.5 years and are currently on the Capricorn/Cancer axis. The Nodes will move into Sagittarius/Gemini on May 5th, 2020.
The North Node has been in Cancer and the South Node in Capricorn since November 6th, 2018. Cancer/Capricorn represent the entanglement of gender norms and the respective parental archetypes of "mother" and "father". For the past 1.5 years, we have been learning how to release our obsessions with structure, status, and hierarchies. We have been evolving how we nourish ourselves and each other and nurture a strong inner foundation. We are disillusioned by productivity, external structures, and the industrial mentality of working like a machine. We release our trusting in efficiency and time.
Instead of abandoning Capricorn, though, we still need to provide care, shelter, love, and support to what we release. The mentality of abandonment is what got us into this painful mess in the first place. We allow Capricorn to come home and we prepare Cancer to be the one "in career", the one to carry on and find their calling. True achievements come from a place of tenderness, emotional communication, and soul-nourishment. These nodes also point towards our ability to re-parent ourselves.
With Uranus in 04°32' Taurus sextile North Node in 04°32' Cancer, new experiences will present themselves prompting a change of direction that is more in line with our true purpose. Keep an open mind and make the most of any opportunities that pass your way. As a collective, we will experience visceral and embodied breakthroughs with our our bodies and how we ground ourselves to the earth.
Collective Astrology in regards to Planetary Health
In the cleansing spirit of Virgo, I will say that there are definitely a few astrological happenings throughout these years that denote huge earth-based disruptions, diseases, and news ways of relating when we look at Uranus' placement in Taurus (2018 - 2026), Neptune in Pisces (2011-2026), Chiron in Aries (2018-2027), and a couple huge shifts like the Saturn-Pluto conjunction (12 January 2020) and the Great Jupiter-Saturn conjunction (21 December 2020). I feel Astrology can be one language that allows us to dawn a larger perspective when looking at earth's history.
Uranus in Taurus transit signifies huge breakthroughs, shock, and disruptions with our foundations, agriculture, resources, and our relationship with the earth. Previous Uranus in Taurus transits featured world events like the beginning of WWII and the 3rd Cholera Pandemic (killing up to 2 million people in Russia).
There are also a few astrological transits and aspects that are possible indicators of pandemics, hysteria, and innovations to how we structure ourselves and the world. Neptune is 2/3 through their stay in Pisces, their home sign, where they have the most personality and power when it comes to illusion, deception, and spiritual illumination. In medical astrology, Neptune also symbolizes mysterious and seemingly incurable diseases -- not saying that this Corona virus is in any way incurable. I'm sure many people are in labs culturing to see what bacteria and fungi are capable of breaking down this new strain of flu. It's just interesting to get a larger, cyclic perspective.
The Saturn-Pluto conjunction (21 December 2020) in Capricorn represents structures, authority, and societal foundations distorting, transforming, breaking down, or taken to extremes. When conjunct, they become one like the other. Saturn's systems and obstacles to work through become destructive and about our capacity to renew. Pluto's power struggles become real.
Saturn --> Aquarius ~ 21 March
We welcome Saturn into Aquarius on March 21, just two days after the Spring Equinox. This is Saturn's first test of the air in Aquarius since 1991-1994. Quite literally this will be no more than a testing of the environment, because Saturn stations Rx on 11 May 2000 in 1°57' Aquarius and will return back to Capricorn on 1 July 2020. This short stint in Aquarius happens to many planets when they enter or ingress into a new sign. They soon turn Rx, revisit their last sign to pick up some information and perspective, and re-enter the new sign for a second time. Saturn will station direct on 29 September 2020 and enter Aquarius for the second and final wha-bam on 17 December 2020, which is considered to be the grand entrance.
From 21 March - 1 July, how can your first impression of Saturn in Aquarius ground you into developing new structures for yourself and leaving behind old forms of limitation? Consider where you experience contraction, rejection, and slow processes of maturation.
Enjoy the Fullness and Release!
