Cancer Full Moon and Penumbral Lunar Eclipse of Home Homeostasising with Reishi

Full Moon and Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in 20°00' Cancer at 12:21pm MST
We are Home Homeostasising
Fungus: Reishi (Ganoderma genus)

This is the second Eclipse in just a couple of weeks, with 5 (!) more scheduled for 2020 Astrology -- many adjustments in a short period of time. This Cancer Eclipse speaks of foundational transformation of home, family, belonging, ancestry, rootedness, and what keeps you coming back to your grounded self. Another restructuring happening just 2 days later is the Saturn-Pluto conjunction that has been culminating for months, which will be exact on Sunday, January 12th. During this potent time of renewal and restructuring, Reishi mushrooms and their wisdom are here to guide us into our fruiting body's own recipe of homesostasis. We are riding the axis of Cancer-Capricorn, of Home-Public, and with Reishi mushrooms in hand, they welcome us into our intimate connections with fluid cycles, that our energy is waiting for our direction, that success shows up as joy, that the best way to release something is to remove your attention from it, the "problem", and that authority is about a change of perspective.

Reishi mushrooms are some of the most popular medicinal mushrooms on the planet. They are saprotrophic fungi, meaning they decompose what they live off of, and they are also adaptogenic mushrooms, meaning that medicinally, they can restore our own fruiting bodies to its own form of homeostasis. What make Reishi, and a host of other mushrooms, adaptogenic is that they are full of beta-glucans, also known as polysaccharides, which increase a variety of immune responses. Their immune-modulating function increases natural killer cells and leads to a more active immune system that is prepared to fight viruses and tumors, relieve stress and anxiety, quell seasonal allergies, and aid in better sleep. These polysaccharides are water-soluble, which means to extract their medicine, all you need to do after you have sustainably harvested mushrooms is crush them, boil them, and make a tea!

This Saturn-Pluto conjunction is happening opposite Moon, in 22° Capricorn, compounded by close alignment of the asteroid Ceres (the capacity to handle cycles of life and death), Mercury (our mind and how we communicate to others and to ourselves), and Sun (our essential luminous life force). This conjunction hasn't happened for 34 years, and is demarcating a new cycle of Saturn and Pluto's relationship through this single, dramatic, and slow pass. By the end of 2020, Saturn and Pluto will be just 5° away from one another.

Saturn, who moves faster than Pluto, symbolizes allowing ourselves to participate in birthing our physical manifestation  rather than contracting, controlling, rejecting, or turning away from our obstacles and darknesses. Saturn is authority, and if our authority lies externally, then our containment lies outside of ourselves and we will be consistently frustrated and let down by change and the inability to control it. Well, Saturn is actually not about "controlling it" -- Saturn is about having internal authority, discipline, and responsibility so that you can become the container for your obstacles and for your creative manifestation. Saturn is about old structures that cannot be changed because they already exist, and you may have not even put them there! What do we do with this? We cannot undo something. We can only change our relationship, or our perspective to find peace and soul-fullness. How can Saturn become the nourisher, instead of the denier, of the inner world?

Pluto represents decay, shadow-work (like actually looking into what you reject!), power struggles, transformation, purifying destruction (think volcanos), and the incredible capacity to renew and regenerate. Pluto can empower or overturn, and is in essence about new life or a new paradigm. In Capricorn, Pluto and Saturn are set on a stage that transforms the structure of our value systems, traditional wisdom, how we use strategy instead of force, how we pursue ambition, and how we gain integrity and honor. This cardinal Capricorn energy comes in waves of initiating, action oriented, obstacle tackling, self motivation.

Together, Pluto and Saturn's natures are beginning a new cycle, similar to the potential of a New Moon. We are on a precipice of a redistribution of power and one of the highest tests of integrity, morality, capacity, and resilience, especially for those in "high" authority. How have you let your perspective of time control you? How have you let the calcification of your own structures castrate your creative manifestation? How can you break down walls of separation in your life?

Collectively, this Saturn-Pluto passing denotes significant stimulation in geopolitical activity that will redistribute power dynamics across the globe. In the chart for July 4, 1776 for the signing of the U.S.' Declaration of Independence, Pluto itself was in 27° Capricorn, guaranteeing a strong shift in this country and it's affairs. Pluto forms a progression of their initial placement during the colonial construction of "American" borders, values, and structures. On an individual and collective level, structures of authority are reinvented.

The last time Saturn and Pluto were conjunct in Capricorn was in January 1518, 3 months after Martin Luther nailed his thesis to the church door at Wittenberg, beginning the Protestant Revolution that splintered Catholic Europe and set in place structures and beliefs that would define the continent for the coming modern era. Reformists such as Martin Luther, John Calvin, and Henry VIII challenged papal authority and questioned their ability to define what Christian practice is, namely in 4 questions: How is a person saved?; Where does religious authority lie?; What is the church?; and What is the essence of Christian living?. This reformation triggered persecutions, the Thirty Year War, and a "Counter-Reformation"

Kite- or bird- looking activity shown in the chart aspects for this Cancer Penumbral Lunar Eclipse on January 10, 2020.

Since August 11, 2019, Uranus has been in their yearly retrograde, but on Friday, January 10th, the day of the Lunar Eclipse, Uranus stations direct Uranus stations direct at 6° Taurus. Uranus Rx has induced changes on an inward level. In relation to Saturn-Pluto conjunction, Uranus in Taurus (2018-2026) emphasizes the strong economic and industrial consequences of this conjunction even more. We are experiencing huge shifts, disturbances, and breakthroughs in the way we use resources, our stability, what we consume, how we agriculture, our material pleasure, our relationship to the earth, and our very own denial and stubbornness.

Venus enters Pisces directly after the Saturn-Pluto conjunction, on Monday, January 13th. After moving through independent yet loyal Aquarius, we have experienced liberation, contribution to group-heart, and also probably some disassociation, strain, and alienation when it comes to our ability to love and relate to others. Now in Pisces, Venus our magnetism and capacity to relate becomes romantic, emotional, and willing to sacrifice.

Mercury enters Aquarius on January 16th. Our minds enter the land of dream-hatching. We conceptualize and communicate with innovative ideas and eccentric inspiration -- remember to let this inspiration move you and your breath-enabled-spirit instead of only taking up heavy space in your mind.

Sun enters Aquarius, as we begin Aquarius season, on Monday, January 20th. How do you bear water for the group?
