Happy Sagittarius season!

Hygrocybe miniata is a species of waxy cap fungi. Waxy caps have 11 genera and are a highly varied type of mushroom that are all white spored and in the Hygrophoroid family. Most waxy caps are edible and they usually taste like wax. Microscopically, they have basidia (spore bearing structure) five times longer than their spores, which may contribute to their waxy texture.

Hygrocybe need a few conditions to grow, and we aren't totally sure of them. There are about 150 species in the Hygrocybe genus worldwide. In Europe, they grow on old, nutrient-poor grasslands, which are declining in habitat, making these species of conservation concern. In 1993, 89% of European Hygrocybe species appeared on threatened fungi red lists.

Most Hygrocybe are soil-dwelling (not growing on wood) and are believed to grow in association with moss... or grass? We don't really know. It is believed they are not saprotrophic but rather grow symbiotically with plants or moss. Some grow only from mossy tree trunks or logs. Hygrocybe have not been successfully cultivated, yet.

Chiron, Pallas Athena ask how do you listen to your intuition?

This New Moon rides the horseback of Jupiter gliding through the galactic center, while Moon trines Chiron Retrograde in Aries and is conjunct with asteroid Pallas Athena. This cycle of germination, mycelial connection, fruiting body illumination, spore release, and decay offers fire to uncondition our ideas of unconditionality. Coming out of Mercury Retrograde, our mental conditioning has the opportunity to pause, retrace, and reorient to the complex emotional transformation that feeds Scorpio.

Unconditional love requires conditions in order to be fully expressed. Unconditional love also requires acting from a place of presence, not acting from emotion. Does your intuition come from a place of presence? A place of presence that you are not just one person, that you are present as the whole universe? And so we venture into Sagittarius season...

Mercury and Mars are visible in the morning sky. Venus and Jupiter are visible in the evening sky through December 15. Saturn is visible in the evening sky through December 27.

Jupiter leaves Galactic Center, preparing for entrance into Capricorn on December 2
As of November 22, Sun is in Sagittarius (through December 21). Sagittarius, the archer, is ruled by Jupiter, who just happens to be dancing through the last two degrees of Sagittarius -- in the galactic center of our Milky Way Galaxy. Sagittarius plays with all their cards on the table, stretches the mind, goes long distances, and can be a very affective optimist. It is in this constellation of Sagittarius that the galactic center is contained, which is none other than a supermassive black hole. In tropical astrology, this galactic center sits at around 26-27° Sagittarius, right where Jupiter just passed.

This new moon is trine Chiron retrograde in Aries. This moon cycle is rich with fire-healing. Healing of our spirit, intuition, enthusiasm, action, self-expression, initiative, and impulsiveness.

Moon conjunct Pallas Athena
This new moon is also conjunct Pallas Athena -- the goddess clad in armor and said to have been born of Jupiter's head full-grown. Pallas (Athena to Greeks) was the goddess of wisdom, presiding over wit and weapons, military strategy, and justice. Always accompanied by her great serpent, she denied any connection to her mother, sister, or feminine nature. Pallas Athena symbolizes the capacity to translate into action what one knows to be true. She speaks to how the wounds of her severed feminine were enclosed in her armor. She also acknowledges the creative sexual energy that gives birth to the children of our minds.

Venus in Capricorn prepares Jupiter's entrance
Venus moves into Capricorn on November 25. What we value, how we assign wealth, and where we find pleasure will be in the enduring sign of Capricorn who seeks usefulness, objectivity, and has a desire to achieve. Capricorn shows us where we meet responsibility, honor, integrity, and traditional wisdom.

Mercury become Direct on November 19 and is midway through Scorpio. Mercury clears its shadow on December 7 and will leap into Sagittarius on December 9.

Mars in Scorpio invites us to cultivate our relationship with them for the rest of the year
Mars moved into Scorpio on November 19, one of the two signs they are home in. Mars is in Scorpio for the rest of 2020, until January 4, inviting us to work with Mars and cultivate our relationship to the planet of willpower, drive, force, anger, desire, strength, and how we take action. Scorpio is the sign that speaks of transformation that happens between Libra (harmonizing collaboration) and Sagittarius (far-reaching journeying). Scorpio is acutely attentive, intense, provocative, secretive, investigative, and mysterious.

Scorpio's exoskeleton can be an evolutionary quality of help and hindrance. Scorpio lives at the highest pitch of emotion and can access some of the most profound unconditional love possible -- Scorpio will walk in the underworld with you and will be deeply loyal and intimate with your darkness. Scorpio also knows when to cut off access for the betterment of all involved. Unconditional love does not equate unconditional access. Scorpio can be unyielding and have uncompromising attention like a snake fixing its prey. Unconditional access can lead to emotional overkill.

Unconditioning what we think unconditional love is
Contrary to what is commonly believed, unconditional love requires conditions in order to be fully expressed. Everything in life requires some kind of condition to grow. The exoskeleton of Scorpio reminds us of the strength and unconditional love of a condition, or a boundary. If we have no conditions, we will be acting on our feelings at all costs at all times. This can lead to neurotic reactivity. Can you trust your feelings to act on them?

If our feelings originate in fear or misinterpretation of reality, feelings are not always the choice guide for action. It is very easy for the mind to misinterpret a reality because our minds are, well, conditioned to see things as a separate mind. Our minds are projecting a world that is their own and often our minds forget about the mycelial connection of our consciousness.

It is easy for Scorpio to become offended. When somebody doesn't do what they're supposed to do, our minds immediately construct thoughts about the situation. We like these thoughts to support our emotional response.

It is easy to misinterpret situations due to the veil of conditioning. Mercury represents not only how we communicate but our early childhood development, our whole mental sphere, how we talk to ourselves, and how we talk to others. Mercury is mental conditioning, and we have just experienced a retrograde in Scorpio -- the sign of emotional transformation and getting to the heart of the matter. Mercury paused, retraced, saw things a new way, and reoriented in Scorpio. We will be fully supported to act on what we discovered on December 7, when Mercury clears its shadow.

Are you acting on emotional intuition or present intuition?
Does your intuition come out of a place of presence? A place of presence that you are in a connected universe? You are not present as just one person. You are present as the whole universe. Intuition does not come from a condition of your mind. Intuition will not come out of anger, fear, or nervousness. There's a quiet peacefulness to intuition. Let's go, Sagittarius!

What house does Scorpio rule in your own chart? Here is a domain for Mars' force of Mercury Retrograde to be felt. Does Mercury rule any large area of your chart? What houses rules Sagittarius or Capricorn?

Venus trine Uranus on November 28. There is a liberating urge to try something new in areas that you value, are attracted to, or where you find pleasure. On this same day, Mercury is trine Neptune. Our minds and how we communicate are sensitive and inspired by imagination, dreams, and spirit. Communication skills benefit from non-threatening, tender, and caring influence. This transit helps us see and feel the bigger picture -- the perspective of the universe.

December 8 features both Sun square Neptune and Jupiter square Chiron. Sun square Neptune brings a challenging aspect between your vitality and inspiration, dissolution, or confusion.
