Full moons are times when energies culminate, release, and surrender. Lunar Eclipses are relationship oriented and allow us to collapse timelines and absorb and alter our lives pretty instantaneously, though sometimes through a lot of pain or tension. Capricorn feels a strong sense of time, so this eclipse releases expectations and burdens that we have held as keepsakes for whatever reasons of comfort or validation in our personal pocket watches. We dive into the pool of non-linear space and time, into malleable dimensions of emotions, dreams, and feeling energies, and realize how powerful our conscious spirits truly are.

We are experiencing eclipses on the Cancer/Capricorn axis from July 2019 - January 2020 and again in 2027-2029. The houses and planets of your own natal chart in Cancer and Capricorn highlight the areas of life activated most profoundly by this eclipse. The upheavals and intentions of this moon cycle will be vividly felt through January 2020 and integrated into both as individuals and a collective. As a collective there are immense shifts evolving towards more of a "family"-like cohabitation with each other -- seeing, hearing, and feeling each other through more personal relating than what we've gotten accustomed to. Collectively, this Eclipse marks a huge shift toward deprogramming toxic gender norms and entangled matriarchal and patriarchal lineages. A certain amount of control and pain is being let go and transformed into something greater.

We are challenged to adopt Cancer and instead of abandoning Capricorn or quitting Capricorn cold turkey, we still need to provide care, shelter, love, and support toward the orphan. The mentality of abandonment is what got us into this painful mess in the first place. We allow Capricorn to come home and we prepare Cancer to be the one "in career", the one to carry the pursuit of a calling.

Cancer North Node invigorates our ability to re-parent ourselves as individuals and as a collective. We no longer point fingers towards the past or each other, we no longer approach life through scarcity and dominion, and we no longer rely on climbing away and from ourselves and each other. We see how to use our senses to exchange supportive energies. We soften.

We are accountable to reach out and respectfully ask for what we need. We are accountable for reaching out through words and action to ask how to support another being and offer what we are good at. If you are aware of it, you are responsible for it.  In order to continue our evolution we have to allow ourselves to be a little vulnerable. Our connection relies on our heart-centered extension and reception towards one another that reflects each other's personal experiencing in ways that feel understood.

Turbinellus kauffmanii: Capricorn, Saturn, accountability, discipline, boundaries, value systems, obsession, ambition, disruption, desensitization/resensitization, self-critique, wounding, contraction/expansion

MycoAstrological correspondences: Planet: Saturn; Secondary Ruler: Pluto; Day: Saturday; Main organ: Spleen; Second Organ: Bone/Joint; System: Skeletal/Structural; Tissue: Bones; Action: Cold/Dry

Turbinellus kauffmanii is native to the Pacific Northwest, Northern California, and has also been recorded in Central Mexico and Western North America. Their fruiting bodies are most commonly found in soils rich with humus (decomposition!) in old-growth coniferous forests and are more common in warm wet summers. The kauffmanii species are more tan in color whereas Turbinellus floccosus fruit in orange hues. Turbinellus kauffmanii is characterized by coarse scales that usually line its deeply vase-shaped cap. It is, though, a highly variable fungus and its degree of scaliness is not consistent. It's edibility is questionable.

On July 16, the Moon, Pluto, and Saturn are opposite our Sun, in Capricorn and bringing in huge energies of deep disruption and upheaval, challenges, and quite possibly fear and anxiety. Pluto represents a hidden and violent unconsciousness that is being recognized by our emotional and physical bodies in ways unlike ever before in this physical body. With these planets and the South Node in Capricorn, we are being agitated to drop the hustle-culture, shake our obsession with the past, to stop our external ambitions that lead to nothing more than more money or corporate ladder-climbing, and to feel the kick inside ourselves that have become desensitized. This is a hard time. We are being shown into the guts and not the glory.

Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto (5 planets) are all in retrograde. During this huge eclipse portal we are drawn inwards and asking to let go of shallow extension. Instead, we embrace shadow intention. We learn how to create and express goals within and to execute them with tenderness, discipline, and honor.
Young Turbinellus kauffmanii (July 2019, WA. Victor Okunev)

We are living out the last week of Sun consciousing Cancerian significations towards family, emotions, sensitivity, and stored memories. On July 22 our Sun enters enthusiastic, brave, and theatrical Leo giving us a special push to integrate and live out the deep emotional excavation we have been experiencing. We are moving through fears of self-critique, abandonment, judgment, and confidence and into a time of being present with our fire spirits.

Our old selves have been blinded by these walls we've built and in many circumstances there's nobody to blame. Feeling resentment is drinking a bottle of poison and expecting the other person to die. During these huge shifts it is easy to drink the bottle and to expect your shadow side to die. This is a quick way to lead a very conflicted life. Our evolutions are not about the light winning over the darkness. It is about being in a bigger space to recognize the forces within us. As we slowly step back into the darkness of winter time, we remember that we can't eliminate the darkness without eliminating the lightness.

Mercury began retrograde on July 8 in Leo, re-enters Cancer on July 19, and then stations direct on August 2, to re-enter Leo on August 12. The ways we think, speak, talk to ourselves, and absorb information are teetering between the two most personal planets! Sun and Moon. Leo is personal expression and the unique self. Cancer is personal feelings and sensitivities. We are less interested in the universal perspective and more in tune with how we are communicating on a personal level. Our thought and communication is tender, imaginative, and intuitive, and also very impacted by the opposing Capricorn/Eclipse energies that Saturn, Pluto, and the Moon are exhuming.

Mercury is opposite Saturn and the Moon is sextile Neptune. We have certainly been in better moods and are sensitive to all of the conscious and unconscious planes. During a time like this, we can embark on spiritual reclamation where we journey to return to who we actually are. We can uncover our inherent self-worth. Maybe you write a list of your positive qualities, maybe you eat local seasonal fruit, maybe you cloud-gaze in the hammock, or maybe you practice self-observation and intentional speech. Reflect on how to get closer to yourself. Reflect on how to invite the dance of getting closer to others.

Venus enters Leo on July 27 through August 21. Love becomes a bit of a game, in an honest and playful advantage! Don't play tricks, with yourself or loved ones. We are strongly invested in our love and how we are admired and validated.

Asteroid Chiron just went retrograde on July 9 from 5°56' Aries and is traveling back to 1°26' Aries which it will station on December 13. Chiron remains in its shadow until reaching 5°56' once again on April 4, 2020. Chiron, the wounded healer, is traveling in the first zodiac sign, Aries, to the first degree point, making a poignant, groundbreaking adjustment of spirit. Aries expresses personal identity, power, and ego construction. The next 5 months, in the same trajectory of our post-lunar-eclipse integration, our ideas of ourselves are going to radically change. Any points on your chart close to the 5° Aries or the other cardinal signs of Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn will be deeply, internally transformed. We reflect and re-assess the woundings that have taken place in our life. Whatever house number Aries lies in your chart is where these changes will be felt most. For instance, Aries rules my house 11 of alliances and expectations so I will pay close attention to my interactions with my social networks and collaborators, and will be discovering how my wounding and healing is fed by themes of collective opportunities, creative vision, universal beliefs, and group activities.
